242: Sunday 16th January 2011 Bisley Sponsored Shoot
Following a really blowy and wet night we were greeted with a dry but still a bit windy morning. Always a pleasant surprise when the Biggin Hill micro-climate is on our side! The boys from the shop gave us a tantalising shoot that looked easier than it was!! Stand one was a teal like outgower with a simultaneous long lopping incomer. Stand two was shot from the tower as an overhead standard followed by a sky-bound midi and stand three was a rabbit and outgoing standard combination. Stand four was an outgoing standard pair thrown from the manual trap and to complete the humiliation was an overhead, on report pair shot from the pit. The scores weren’t that bad (for us!!) with Tom and Phil bringing up the rear in sixth place with a score of 30. Paul was coasting along in fifth, recording his first Sunday score of 2011 with a 32, just behind Dave with a 33 and Dan having shot 35. Bradley started his year well with 37 to give him second place, but in first place this week was Barry H with a well shot 38. Just to clarify what’s happening now the boys from the shop are setting up but the members are still expected to clear the field at the end of the shoot. It would be appreciated if as many members as possible could hang on to help. Many hands make light work. Can I also ask members to take care in the car park? It may have been as a result of wind catching someone’s door, but a significant dent has been left in Paul’s new car. If you can shed any light on what happened, please contact Paul.
